Miller's Bluff

We did Miller's Bluff yesterday, as per the Abels Bk 1 instructions. Although the group I was with consisted of competent, fit and experienced walkers, the times we took were a lot longer than the book suggests. Perhaps the scrub has grown markedly since publication; perhaps the author had magic wings. Normally I do walks in times that are well under the published ones, but not this one, that's for sure!!!!!! If you wish to read the full account of the epic day that had us finishing well after midnight, look up natureloverswalks.blogspot.com

You have to be pretty desperate to do Miller's the way we did. Of course, you could just use the fire-spotter's access road, but what's the fun in that?????? We sure earned our measly two points, but at least it was two rather than one, which is what we thought it was as we fought scrub and descended in the dark.

I forgot to mention, we did not park at Lake River as per the book, but had permission (and a key) and drove over Scrubby Den Rivulet in a 4WD and parked just before the next creek, a savings of many kilometres!
