A somewhat late report on a traverse of Ben Lomond nearly five years ago. I'm not sure why I waited so long to (a) do the walk, and (b) write it up. It's a walk - and a blog post - in two parts: definitely more interesting in the latter half.

For such a nasty bit of scrub Scoparia sure compensates with it's brilliant summer blooms. There's some nice examples up there

There sure are tibboh. I haven't been out much yet this summer, but now's about the right time for scoparia blooming. The side of Mt Rufus would have to be the best - and most accessible - I've ever seen.

Meanwhile ... I've written up the second half of my Ben Lomond Traverse story. It was brilliant being able to get up Stacks Bluff at last - even if I did it the "easy" way (ie from the skifield). Grant Cirque was a surprise too. In fact I rate the Ben traverse a lovely walk *IF* you have a favourable forecast (ie low winds and high visibility). I wouldn't want to be camping up there in fog, rain or strong winds. Snow might be another matter
