Disappearing Tarn

Thu 15 Jan, 2015 3:43 pm

After the heavy rain yesterday I took a quick walk out to Disappearing Tarn today. It's looking good and would be well worth a visit this weekend.

Cool. I tried to get there today but ran out of time. Thought it would be fuller though.

Well today I decided to find out where the elusive disappearing tarn hides.

knowing its been hot, no huge downpours and is bound to be a barren dry rock bed..... imagine my surprise to find a little pool of blue still twinkling like the gem that it is.

Not a lot of water but could see where it had risen to lately with discarded moss pushed up high on the Boulder field.

Thank you to those who inspired me to have a peek. Was worth the rock hopping after finding it bubbling away in its oasis.

Took a few underwater shots too. Brrrr now that was cold.

So...why is it blue?
