No Name Falls -Lemonthyne Lodge

Postby Chrisbulldog » Thu 11 Nov, 2010 3:02 pm

Went to these falls with a few last sunday . Started out ok but bucketed down later. This starts up behind the Lodge .3.5ks return , some giant swamp gums which were spared the axe in the 1940's . Good little tester with fair uphill section . There is also a mini power station and a frog area to see. The lodge itself don't mind giving wet walkers coffee to have beside the open fire. Nearby is another walk to bridal veil falls , and the intention was to do both , but will defer that one. Altogether a great little spot ,the drive in is superb too.

Been up there a couple of times. Nice walk, but a hard fall to photograph.

Yes thats true ,was rainy as i said ,but probably the only way to get a good pic is with the sun shining directly on the conglomerate they tumble over , it came out black and indistinct from what i took. Little bit of scrub bashing in that area too as trees have fallen over track , so fairly testing for a "tourist type" track. Also noticed a 2 hour return walk to Lake Cethana signpost too ,if anyone has done that one , is it worth doing? Cheers Chris.
