Lots of building works starting early July in the area, dont know if they are closing tracks for these 'improvements'?

It's actually possible to do the short route to the Blade and back as a (longish) daywalk. Three days gives you time to explore the Cape and return via Mt Fortescue and Cape Hauy. Worth the effort, but make sure high winds aren't forecast, as Cape Pillar is one of the windiest places in the state.

It's a really good three day walk. walk in over the top of Mt Fortescue (via Cape Hauy Track) and aim to camp at Perdition Ponds or Oasis Camp. fter the rain we have had there should be water at both places I reckon or you can carry it in from Lunchtime Creek if you don't like kit in anmy way brackish. On your middle day you can walk to the end and even get all the way down to the pillar via a gulley at the end. Third day is an easy walk back to Fortescue Bay via the low level route.

Speaking of weather, last time I was there we had to wait out some gales at Perdition because we could not stay on our feet walking up out of there. My wife especially kept getting picked up and blown over and off the track into rocks. She was wearing my favourite balaclava as a beannie vbut it got ripped off and disappeared into the distance - probably New Zealand.

Yeah, I got that sort of thing my first time in. Even sitting down sheltering behind a rock, I got blown sideways by a gust and rolled a good ten metres along until I could grab something to stop myself.
And the next day the sea was a glassout. It's a wild and changeable place.

Just a quick note that if planning to camp at Hurricane Heath, Lunchtime Creek is the last freshwater available. Water at Perdition Ponds was fine for me. One other thing is weather forecast specially for the short walk down to Perdition which is one of the windiest places I experienced.
