Hi all
Although this trip report is a year old I don't believe this fun 4 day walk, circumnavigating Falls Creek, has been discussed anywhere on the forum so am posting it here for those who may be interested in following a similar route.
http://trailsandtracks.blogspot.com.au/ ... -2013.htmlI completed the walk in June 2013, in fairly benign conditions.

I somehow managed to put the wrong trip report link in the post! Have corrected this now.

Nice report. How did you approach the J'thankgs from the Fainters. Did you walk up the trackless ridge from the saddle below The Fainters or take the track from Tawonga Huts as aside trip? I'm curious if the ridge is still trackless. Also, what condition is the Fainters fire trail - last time I walked it it was degenerating into a walking track.
Glad you managed to hang to all your gear too.

A year ago the ridge was still trackless, and the fire trail was variable between single file walking track and wide open spaces.
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.
