Hi Guys,
Just came back from a couple of trips on the Grose River (Blackheath and Faulconbridge).
Truly some gorgeous country and my new favourite river for rafting.
A quick write up here:

We did a four day walk trip strating at Rainbow Ravine (exit for Claustral) down the Grose though the Devils Wilderness to the road coming in from Richmond (1997). There were several sections of the old survey track (which I believe was called the Royal Engineers Track or similar) on the Grose. One of the best four day trips I've ever done. True wilderness.
Liked your trip report.

Jeremy, since you have done all the hard work of scouting for the put-ins and take-outs, please count me in when this trip happens!
bummer about the key! was there not another supplier for that key that can offer a cheaper solution?

Hi,
Thanks for the comments guys.
Clarence: Indeed I have heard reports about the engineers track, but couldn't find much trace of it, especially down Faulconbridge way (very scrubby)! Indeed, it is amazing country!
Ninja Puppet: I will definitely let you know about any packrafting action on the Grose! Also, I am sure there probably would have been, but I only found out the price after being towed to his shop (typical), making my position a bit harder!

The best sections of the old Engineers Track are to be found in the Devils Wilderness where the gorge is at its narrowest. There is much less of it to be found below the Wentworth Creek junction.
