A secret waterhole near Faulconbridge

Postby FatCanyoner » Tue 17 Apr, 2012 2:32 pm

G'day folks,
I've been working nights recently, so have been trying to squeeze in an easy day walk / short canyon at least once a month on a weekday. The positive of this is I'm doing some trips I wouldn't otherwise (if you have a full day or weekend, you might as well use it all!).
My most recent one was a visit to a couple waterholes near Faulconbridge, including a secret little one that doesn't seem to have a name or any references online.
The full trip report, with photos, is here: http://fatcanyoners.org/2012/03/16/waterhole-faulconbridge/
If anyone knows the name of the waterhole, or a bit more history about this particular tributary of Linden Creek, I'd be keen to hear it.
I'm also thinking this is a perfect little valley to return to with the kids for an easy overnight walk. The giant gum trees were spectacular, and while a lot of the undergrowth was bracken there were some grassier openings. It is amazing how rarely visited the area appears to be given how close it is to civilisation!
