Exploring the lower Grose River and Linden Ridge

Thu 17 May, 2012 9:48 pm

G'day folks,

I've been pretty guilty in the past of focusing my time in the upper Grose Valley, with its iconic gorge and spectacular vistas, but a fortnight ago I finally did a decent overnight walk in the lower section of the river.

The river between the track from Faulconbridge Ridge and Wentworth Cave was scrubby, but still stunning, however it was Linden Ridge and the views into Wentworth Creek that really blew me away.

It's clear that Linden Ridge doesn't get the love it deserves, given the great views and challenging walking it offers up.

I've written up a rather long trip report with a heap of nice pics here: http://fatcanyoners.org/2012/05/05/grose-river-linden-ridge/

The trip has really inspired me to go back, possibly to do the whole length of the river, but certainly to explore more of the impressive gorge in lower Wentworth Creek, as well as more of the Devil's Wilderness.

I hope you enjoy.

Tim

Great report and pics there mate...Your lucky to live in an area where you can easily access such huge amounts of walking terrain.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Dingo, you are spot on about how lucky we are to have so much natural beauty right on the doorstep!
I've actually had some feedback about an interesting feature I missed on Linden Ridge so am already starting to plan a return trip.
