Any others use *&^%$#! bottles??

Postby ILUVSWTAS » Thu 26 Jul, 2012 3:57 pm

Just had a conversation with a couple of guys about this, one was horrified that me and the other regularly use bottles to *&^%$#! in on winter trips in Tas. Nothing worse than getting out of a warm sleeping bag and out of a wet tent to have a *&^%$#!. So it's easy to carry a large bottle with a secure lid.....

Come on now i know there's more of us out there.... who's with me??

Oh and Mr blank, pissing in your vestible doesnt count.... :P

I believe we've had the discussion on the use of hammocks in Tassie before.... Although in this instance it would be useful.

Only in lousy weather, and only if I have room in my pack for the extra bottle. But yeah, sloshing around in the mud/snow/rain etc. sucks when you're either not dressed for it or have to get out of your snug sleeping bag and get all dressed up in wet/frozen gear for a 2 minute trip. Amazing how cold you get in 2 minutes when wearing nothing but boxers and a t-shirt (bare feet too) and almost up to your knees in soft snow at about 0 degrees.

Actually I have taken to consuming less fluids before bed if the camp site/weather isn't nice so I can make it from before tea to after breakfast and packing the next day. Aim to only enter and exit the tent once.

I refuse to *&^%$#! in the vestibule. Except once, but the slope/vegetation etc. was just right and it was my other vestibule that I weren't using and their were sooo many leeches I really didn't want to leave for any reason.

I have used one for years :) my container of choice is an empty Staminade powder plastic jar as it has a nice wide neck good seal and not likely to be used as a drink bottle.

Always carry a *&^%$#! bottle, then offer the newbie some apple juice in the morning.
Orange juice bottle, dont use a square 1 litre milk bottle - they get cracks and then you're trying to work out how you dribbled.

I'd fill it or spill, and the two women in my life would expel me from the tent into the cold anyway. No sense of humour, the wenches...

Using one a lot these days. Started having night time cramps, seems to be a hydration problem, and the result is that there is now a regular need to pee (there, I said it) about 02:30. I have a 1.5 litre toner bottle (photocopy toner) with wide mouth and good seal to the lid. My doc was quite interested, and impressed, to find out that I do need the capacity. I find the bottle much more hygienic compared to having a whiz in the vestibule or quite close to the tent or hammock.

Drifting you would be hard pressed to fill the Staminade container I use at around 300ml a pee unless you have a really BIG bladder :? and your wenches are just jealous that they do not have the same opportunity unless they use that thingie that enables them to stand up and pee

I'm afraid the extra weight of a bottle isn't justified when you can use a sturdy ziplock bag which then be used as a hot (well warm) water bottle for the rest of the night.

I'm not sure if I'd be up to holding on to a bag of my own *&^%$#!, Dale. I just get up and go outside and go. It's cold and takes a while to muster the courage but it works fine.

Stoked to have so many of you come forward, I knew it happened alot. Very popular with snow cavers.

Im not sure how an extra 200g bottle can be considered too heavy for winter trips though. Oh yeh.... mainlanders

Might be age related but I would need to have 6 of them to ensure sufficient storage capacity.

Ive done it on long drives when I dont want to stop every hour or so.

Tip #44-69a - Make sure your dick is straight when peeing (no bends to get it into the bottle), otherwise when you think your finished and let go of your dick the bend has created a kink like a garden hose resulting in a backpressure that lets a shot out all over the place....not goood

Tenting/swagging/tarping I always get up and pee and enjoy the night view.

Like sthughes said on the snow in the snow or rain a pee bottle is the answer because I believe getting soaked /frozen is just not worth it but to each there own
