Sad to see Winter end but happy to see Spring come

I really do enjoy the way we have seasons in the temperate zones, I missed them when I was living in the tropics.

Every day. 27 degrees here today, no spring just straight into summer.

I live in ballarat. And always look forward to spring. We had out coldest day in 33 years. A top of 4.3 and it snowed . Always cold here. My new hilleberg had his first taste of snow. In the back yard.

I've been living in the tropics again for the past 2 years and really pining for the cold. I'm moving to Tumut next month and I hope to be able to have an open fire again before summer hits.
I like the temperate seasons.

Yes it's nice to have spring weather on the way, once our snow skiing trip is done we look forward to spring.
The melting snow when it gets the really dirty ragged state is a sight that saddens me every year.
When the full snow cover is down the mountains have a magical appearance.

After seeing the snow so vibrantly alive, the stains and untidyness on it are like a cancer. The bush in the low lands around home are blooming green and gold, looking their best. As one shines the other fades. I guess this helps decide where to go for my walks, though still sad that the snow is on its way out!

Totally agree, Moondog! Contrast is where the fun is!

NNW - I sort of agree about Spring - I get a bit toey in the period when the snow is rapidly disappearing but the access roads are not yet reopened.

Yeah we love the cold weather too and spend all winter heading west up into the tablelands country chasing what sleet and snow we can find! Had two or three good falls this year but back down on the coast now it is SPRING and while that does mean longer days (which I love ) it also means the start of our seasonal spring nor'easters - already had two weeks of them and they are enough to drive anyone nuts: we wake up to a beautiful sunny clear morning, calm seas, looks like a perfect beach day but - by 11am it is a blowing a gale and all the washing is wrapped around the clothesline in a complete twist. Then it blows like buggery all day until dusk and if we are lucky it drops in the evening and then starts all over again the next day.
