Claytons bushwalk

Wed 15 Oct, 2014 7:46 pm

My wife and I had planned to take her parents for a drive to Minnamurra Rainforest for a walk last weekend, but at the last moment they were unable to come.

So as it was a beautiful day, and we were in need of respite from renovating, we decided to go anyway! So not really a bushwalk, but as close as we could come at the time.

It was great to see a large number of people of all ages enjoying this wonderful resource, and also for us to get some much needed time outdoors. Plenty of lyrebirds, including a couple of males that just wouldn't pose for me.

Looks like a nice day out cajun. Lyrebirds are such characters, the shot of that one having a bath it cracks me up. Great shot of the currawong too, it reminds me that they are too clever by half, I see mischief writ large there! I hope no sandwiches were lost that day

Beautiful spot in there, local for us. Up near the top there is a bower bird that has a nest only a few metres from the track and is not shy. Lyrebirds everywhere, great area.

Thanks for posting, Cajun. I particularly love the mug shot!
Beauty is beauty. I'm incredibly grateful for the privilege it is to have the capacity to get to a great deal more of this our amazing land than most. It's good to see people enjoying what they can.

Many thanks everyone.

I was very happy with the shot of the currawong. I got a laugh when I opened the latest e-mag and saw a similar shot.

Oh well - always the bridesmaid ...

And btw - no lunch was harmed in the filming of this post :)
