http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/latenightlive/lost-histories-of-australia/7924944The details of this walk as described by the interviewee, Mark McKenna, are striking enough. Fascinating information as well about relations between the indigenous people and the whites doing the walk.
Really worth putting up with the rather irritating interviewer. And then reading the book, I imagine, although I have yet to do that.

This walk was reenacted back in 1997 in celebration of 200 years. It was an initiative of the Scouts, and involved a lot of Scout groups as well as Bushwalking Clubs and community groups, keeping approximately to the time line of the original diaries. I was part of the initial stage from Lakes Entrance to across the Snowy River at Marlo.
