Obsessed with Bushwalking?

Tue 27 Oct, 2009 10:51 am

A bit of comedy from our forum member Frank_in_oz on his blog -
http://frankinoz.blogspot.com/2009/10/5 ... -with.html
Thought it worthy of a topic and perhaps we can think of a few more.

Perhaps "You go the backyard and dig a hole for number 2's."

Frank I'm not so sure about number 11 -
11. When not out backpacking you waste time on internet forums talking about it.
Wasting time???
Perhaps you can redeem yourself by linking number 20
20. Your homepage is Trailspace.com/ Bushwalk Tasmania

Okay, I can honestly tick 10 of those. Clearly I need help. To get the number higher I mean

I'd add:

  • When your desired xmas/birthday presents are all bushwalking gear.
  • When you seriously considered a bushwalking holiday for your honeymoon.
  • When you would rather read maps than the newspaper on Saturday morning.
  • When your internet bookmarks are all bushwalking-related.

I'm sure we can come up with some more...

Cheers,
Alliecat

I'd tick all 4 of those, Alliecat! I've already arranged my birthday present from my wife (a new stove), and I got her to climb Mt Roland the steep way on our honeymoon (wrecked her new acrylic nails).

And I related to number 22 on Frank's list, amongst many others.

Hi Alliecat, does not seem obsessive to me, more like normal behaviour......

Good on you Nik, ruining nails is a big NO NO!

Tis a funny obsession we all have but you have to agree it is a GREAT obsession to have.

We are so lucky here in Australia to have some great places to hike, where the number of people is minimal and distances from roads etc keep the nuff nuffs away. Long may the wilderness survive.
