i was looking for references to minimalist walking this evening and came across this link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naked_hikingthought it sounded a little extreme for my liking, dont worry there is nothing graphic in the link or i wouldnt have posted it.

Every time I see an article on nude bushwalking the prospect of my private bits coming into contact with Needle Hakea or a Mountain Devil sends shudders down my spine.

Good to see the world isn't totally conservative. My husband and I were often naked in the bush. We crossed the border from NSW into Victoria naked, walking along the coast in Nadgee, jumping into the ocean every so often (no sharp pointy bits in your bits), such fun. We passed one guy who had the same idea. That was the eighties and we're older now...we go naked round the house sometimes and our kids say 'oh ew!'

and look the other way! I think everyone looks good naked...those people look pretty fit...

I would give it go! Anyone heading for Devonport gimme a call for a trial walk, i'll find a spot to make it happen without too many unexpected human encounters! Kayaking naked is wonderful! Nothing worse than wet shorts in my kayak.

But it is getting really quite cool now.... Always good for the kayak as I sit on a nice bit of foam and use the styrofoam skirt to keep me warm.

Perhaps they make gaiters in " very small sizes" ?

There's always the koteka or the nambas. Apparently there are big nambas and small nambas so whatever suits...

I've always been more of an 'around the house nudist', but a few years back I started walking with a crazy Yank who would often nude up for nice sections of a walk (scrub not too bad). At first I found it a bit strange, but soon enough gave it a go. Now it is pretty semi-regular. I've even started doing a few trips deliberately that way. I'd still avoid anything off-track, given the fact that EVERYTHING in the Aussie bush is sharp / pokie / spikey / scratchy. Maybe I'll get braver soon.
In the mean time, I've now done a couple nude canyons... you can check out the most recent here:

problem is theres always people who will take offence with nudity given parks arent exclusive nudist zones...
given you are in the middle of nowhere , how would your average woman feel coming across a naked man or men in the middle of nowhere? don't think they'd be too happy....

That article mentions Stephen Gough, a.k.a. 'The Naked Rambler.' By coincidence, there was an article about him in this weekend's Guardian newpaper. If you're interested, see

Well that would depend on just how good the view was!

Lot of posts but no photos???

As usaual with any nude hijinx it's always heavily populated with the male of the specie and that photo proves no different, Although one vixen can be spotted it's a total sausage fest.

I found that article about Stephen Gough truly inspiring, especially being it Easter time. Whether one believes in the right to walk naked down the street or that one's the true and only son of God (or anything in between) - Never Stand Down. Good on him.

Just to prove your point Dingo, my nude bushwalk last week only had dudes... but it was still a blast! And there are some stunning photos too.
