good bit of information there Corvus, i didnt know what an oozle was, good for trivia nights etc...not sure it will help Newby scrub bash his way out of a tight situation...you never know though......

I did use Oozle as a link to the heffalump as woosle would not have led to the Golfing link.
By the way Milne based his Woozle word on the real Ouzel which is another name for a Trush

Another name for a Thrush eh? Of course I googled that and found out that Turdus merula is also another name for the (common) Thrush.
Being somewhat juvenile I've spent a fair bit of time chuckling about it. Do you think Milne was perhaps a bit preoccupied with the whole poo thing?

Think you need a license for Brushtail Possums but eating our trout

Possums sound easier than trout.

They are often around when food is about .
If all else fails we are famous for roadkill---you shouldnt starve---bring some seasoning.

i dont think you need a licence to take eels, one eel can keep you going for a little while,....also mussels off the rocks if you are near the sea is quite acceptable.........

Short Finned Eels - Fishing Status:
An IFS Recreational Angling licence is needed to take Short Finned Eel unless captured by the use of a bush pole. A bush pole is defined as a length of wood that is not less than one metre in length and does not have a reel and running line. Licences can be purchased from more than 130 agents located in retail businesses around the

My first ever fish caught in Tassie was exactly under those rules over 40 years ago at the Alma Bridge on the Forth where I caught a really nice Blackfish

what do you call a bush pole that is less than a metre...? a bush stick....? apparently highly illegal then......

Yep, a bush pole is just a bush stick over 1 metre long with line tied on the end.
