Thought I would add a few of the blogs I have come across while researching some of our walks. I think the size of our country and the nature of our bushwalking 'culture' means many of our great blogs focus on just one region or state.

In the NSW/ACT region around Canberra are:
http://mntviews.blogspot.com.au/ - Mountain Views.
http://www.johnevans.id.au/wp/ - Johnny Boys Walkabut Blog

SE Qld there is Cameron's blogpage:
https://highandwide.com.au/ which used to be called HikingSEQld

In Tasmania my favourite blog is Peter Grant's http://www.naturescribe.com/ (his writing style appeals to me) but I also like and visit Peter Franklins blog http://bushwalks.blogspot.com.au/ and of course (people have already mentioned) Lousie Fairfax's Naturelovers walks. So many peaks bagged!

And for the SW of Western Australia I like the layout and look of http://www.thelifeofpy.com/

Although not prolific I also enjoy http://adventuresandtinkerings.blogspot.com.au/ for local packrafting and more prolific https://fatcanyoners.org/about/ for, of course, canyons.

I confess though I do have a couple of overseas bloggers on my list of blogs to check in on:
One is Aaron Teasdale, who unfortunately has stopped blogging for the moment as he is writing full time and has just been named 2016 Travel Writer of the Year by the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation. http://aaronteasdale.blogspot.com.au/

The other blog I began following years ago was The Roaming Dials, Alaskan packrafting mainly. I haven't checked it for a year or so and when I visited it today to check he was still blogging I discovered the author's life has taken a devastating, difficult turn and so it also may be on hold but definitely still worth checking out old posts. http://packrafting.blogspot.com.au/sear ... ig%20Trips

Anyway, I've rattled on more than I planned. But also, most blogs have a list down the side of other blog pages they recommend and it is always worth clicking on a few of those for new discoveries.

So many adventures to have !!! Chrissy :)

Gee thanks Christina! I really appreciate the bouquet, as well as being put in the illustrious company of Peter F and Louise (both of whom I know ... this is Tassie after all.) I'm currently overseas, so haven't been doing much on the blog the last 6 weeks. But you've inspired me to get back to it soon,

cheers

Peter

What a great idea for a thread! I shall have to download these pages for my next flight reading. I always liked http://ourhikingblog.com.au/ although its been a tad quiet lately

I'm a huge fan of Caro over at Lotsafreshair - http://www.lotsafreshair.com. She is really creative with her content and offers some great bits of advice.
