Locations for multi day hikes with a dog

Hi all,

I'm struggling to find places where I can take my dog on multi day hikes.

I'm based on the eastern side of Melbourne, but am willing to travel for longer hikes - the longer the hike the further I would be willing to travel.

Victoriawalks.org.au has some good day hikes and parksvic have some good camping locations, but struggling to find longer distance trails.

Can any one suggest multi-day hikes that allow dogs and that are reachable from Victoria?

Maybe string some state forests together...not the same as walking multi day trails in national parks, but you are restricted by taking your dog.

A couple of thoughts; in NSW the Hume and Hovel Track from near Yass to Albury. There are a couple of national parks/nature reserves on the route that would need to be bypassed but plenty of country walking. I also expect there are quite long sections of the Bicentennial National Trail that are outside park boundaries.

A couple of thoughts; in NSW the Hume and Hovel Track from near Yass to Albury. I will check them out! The Bicentennial National Trail was also one of my first thoughts, but I checked the website and it says no dogs.

Lerderderg Gorge is dog friendly. You can easily spend 2-3 days out there traversing it.

Just be careful in Lerderderg. I looked at that as an option to take my border collie but dogs are not permitted in the Conservation area or MacKenzies flat. North of O'Briens Crossing is pretty good though.
