brinderbella ranges in the 1960's a parradice for teenagers

when we were teenagers in the 1960's the brinderbella mountains near canberra were a parradice .we had bushbibles like paddy palans bush walking book and survival books and crafts and we c0uld not afford any thing so we either begged borrowed or got it for xmas our equipment or even got a job after school but we used what ever we could and put up with what ever .since going striaght into the deep end up at gingera mountain in winter was too risky we gradualy got to know our aera and huts ect so bit by bit we eventualy were experienced enough to realy face evety thing the brindies threw at us and we did get our school work done but after our camping trips came first ..especialy long week ends ..we would beg for lifts or hitch hike and in thoughs days hitch hiking up to mount franklin was not even a risk as every one was going up there for day trips so walking was part of the adventure as well as working out other ways of going up there .and huts were evey where for shelter .it wasnt until the 1970's damage was preverlent and over familiarity took away the magic of the place .even old harly davison motor cycles were at mt.franklin for hand tows ski runs and it got a lot of snow back then .yha had hostels around to use and join in the bush as its original theme but now are just back packers .it has even been discussed by polititians to ban camping and if they did every thing is out of wak' it would not matter any more because rangers are parranoid about every little thing and if you even lit up a smoke in the bush now all hell would rain loose on you ..i had one felow who said he owned all of the mountains and when i wrote in the canberra times about rangers arrigance the head ranger rang me up to abuse me they are just little hitlers now and recon they own the earth ..for their joke .they poison all our parks and kill more wild life than the ferals they are trying too 'avoid '' der ..i am sinicle now from the nepitism i have seen ..birds of a feather stick together . ..one ranger would not even let me go in to the now burnt down cotter kiosk because he said i am not allowed in the area ..then i know he burnt down the upper cotter hut and told police i did it but they realised who he was and so let me go ..i know of a case a police officer pretended to be a bush walker around the back of mt.cooree and a ranger tryed his deceptive tricks on him and he was arrested for falseness ..but it was a parradice back in the 1960's but i have no time for all the hanky panky going on any more ..i know the rangers burnt down the brinderbellas and canberra 500 homes and the national parks in 2001 because they all had one story offical and that was lightening did it but one thing wrong with that ..we only get sheet lightening not fork lightening and so no fires were started by nature but by incenduries by human hands in the government to stop people going into the bush .for political reasons .stanhope gave himself a medal for helping the helicopter pilot who crashed into corin dam during the fire getting water ..but what a coincidence he was there just at that moment ..not in your lifre of born days he set that up to distract any truth that might imply the government wanted those fires for political reasons and future land proffets .

Hi Skeatsy,

Welcome to BW-T, thank you for an entertaining story but as a long term bushwalker and resident of ACT I am unable to agree with your experiences and views. Over the years I have had a fair amount of contact with the local Parks and Wildlife rangers and I have found them nothing but extremely nice, very dedicated and always very helpful.

I do agree with one thing that the Brindabellas/Namadgi are a paradise.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been hard done by. However it's inappropriate to post accusations of criminal activity here without evidence.

If you want to pursue this, a court of law (backed up with evidence) would be a better place to do so.
