Flora Seen on Your Last Walk?

It's midwinter; far too early for spring.
And frost in the mornings too.
But the Boronia ledifolia are still flowering - more and more each day. So are a couple of acacias and grevilias, and other tiny white flowers.

If you think about it, something has to be flowering all year around - otherwise all the pollinating insects would die. And then where would we be?

A few weeks later:
Now the Eriostemons are bursting forth. The early Boronias are starting to set seed.
And many others of course.

All the almost-creepy from the silence-of-snow, alpine gums, at Baw Baw scout hall & surrounds. went off around some of the trails during summer.

a variety of low-scrub / staying close to the heat of the earth grasses, too, but the alpine gum's twisted and thick smaller trunks, sticks with me for a while after i've seen it.

Unusual pattern of shapes, compared to many straight-growers, amongst the gums if i remember correctly?

And now, the Boronias are setting seed, the Eriostomen are setting seed, and even the Ladies Fingers are setting seed. OK, so are lots of others too.
And our Red Cedar is slowly leafing up.

I missed this Snake Orchid (Cymbidium suave) flowering last year so I made the effort to go and have a look this year. Was not disappointed as it was in full flower. Looks great.

Once again: Hawkesbury plateau, N of Hornsby, Boronia ledifolia are now flowering nicely.

And the red Grevillea spider flowers (punicea, I think), and starting to be everywhere as well.
Mind you, we are technically still in mid-winter. Oh well.
