Selling then regretting doing so?

Have you ever made a decision to sell something? For a good and valid reason at the time and then later on decide you'd made a mistake?
Well I've just done that.
I've decided that I'll start downhill skiing again and because I get cold little fingers doing so [ I got frost nipped a while back and the smaller fingers get numb very fast] I used to use OR HighCamp trigger finger mitts. Sold them to Icefest a couple of years back and now I'll have to go and buy a new pair
How many others have done this more than once?

haha, I was going to say the same thing except that my family don't differ in that opinion - my bushwalking better half is a better hoarder of gear than I am!

As I own my own home my family have no say in what I hoard or frequently "update", especially when it comes to road bikes!

OR makes some of the best equipment for outside. I discovered them in the late 1980s and have one of their earliest red foam insulated soft boxes for storing food. Probably from 1988 or so. Sunhats, beanies, gloves and polartec sunglasses cases show more than a little devotion to a brand that has been around a long time.

I did have a tear in my eye when I sold off most of the Everest and Denali gear. If we win the lottery I'll be able to afford both to re-purchase and a wheelchair guide to the summit.
I just re-bought a pair of HighCamp trigger finger gloves. This pair I'll have to keep just in case

I've realised that selling multiple things on marketplace means that occasionally when I need one thing again, I can afford to buy new or upgraded versions of what I sold.

Not a foolproof methodology but a lot of clothing etc does perish with age, so often getting something new is worth it.

I got rid of a car that I shouldn't have have, a V6 Vitara 4wd. It is needed here, but my daughter wanted it , and I said I want it back if you want to get rid of it, her ex stole it and wrote it off. I will never do that again.

a while ago I sold off my MSR cup/kettle and used the cash to buy the cheaper TOAKS 900ml because I preferred the handles of the TOAKS but yesterday I bought back my MSR.
Because the lid fits better than the cheaper unit, I am going to do a handle swap and then sell the TOAKS.

There are hours of fun shuffling (sorting) through all the gear you've accumulated. It's a legitimate mindfulness therapy. All those memories come flooding back of when you last used this or that. Or the hopes and dreams of when you will use that obscure bit of gear.
