I have quite a few books on Tasmania, I am rereading R & K Gowllands book Trampled Wilderness at the moment and also doing some research into the Southern Ranges and am reading South West Tasmania by Ken Collins.Collins book is second hand, I looked at the signature inside and it turns out to be RW Gowlland.
Tassie is a small place. Does anyone know if the Gowllands are still about?
This one was printed by St Matthew's Anglican Church in New Norfolk, in 1982. Perhaps they might know. Looking at the citing of that book, it more suggests a close connection between R Gowlland and the church there.

The preface to the *fourth* edition (2004, Regal Press, Launceston) of 'Trampled Wilderness' reads as follows:
"Ralph Gowlland passed away in October 2003. During his later years he often lamented his inability to reprint 'Trampled Wilderness.' ...[snip]... - Timothy L. Gowlland, Otago bay, Tasmania"

Kathleen Gowlland passed away before the printing of Trampelled Wilderness and there is mention made of this on the back of the dust jacket on my copy.
