Hoping to do Lake Tali Karng as an overnighter befoe Xmas and a few day trips in the Otways.

Hoping to do a 2 day circuit from Breakfast Creek and up Mt Ligar and Tamboritha in early November, and hopefully some exploring up in the Feathertop region too. All working towards a couple of weeks in Tassie in February to walk the Frankland Range, and time permitting, getting back to Frenchmans to climb Clytemnestra and Philps Peak.

I'm planning on doing the South Coast bushwalk in Tassie in the new year. I don't have anyone to go with though, so I'll see.

I was originally going to do my second Overland in February (with friends this time), but they've mostly all fallen through, so I figured I might as well do something new.

Overnighter down Starlights in the Nattai (our 'local') this weekend cancelled due to bushfires. I had planned on my first solo short multi day next week to be the Six Foot Track, Katoomba to Jenolan, but that'll probably be cancelled now due to fires too.
Torres del Paine full circuit in Chile with hubby over Xmas/Jan.
Overland Track in Tassie Feb (solo)
Routeburn Track in NZ with hubby at Easter
?? Camino de Santiago in Spain in winter? Thinking of taking our 13 year son with us
Kilimanjaro and then a camping safari in eastern Africa with a workmate buddy in Sept/Oct

I'd better get going organising some more work to pay for this!

Planning a couple of small exploratory walks leading up to the Main Range traverse when the weather cools (Cunninghams Gap to Teviot Gap 4-5days).
All sections are part of the Main Range walk.

1.Feasibility of a couple of backdoor routes to Mt Mitchell summit, S.E ridge & S.W ridge from Spicers Gap campground.
2.The Steamers overnighter...maybe a mooch along Davies Ridge or over to Lizard Point.
3.Tevoit Gap access point to Mt Roberts, another overnighter

Trying to organise something for next week to replace my planned Six Foot Track walk in the Blue Mountains, postponed due to fires. Likely to do a bit of a walk in the Royal National Park, Otford to Bundeena. Just trying to work out the car shuffle thing, hubby pick up vs pub transport time waster etc etc. I have next week free from work commitments, so I'm determined to go somewhere!

for *&^%$# sake now I realise that to camp at North Era I should have pre booked x months ago!! The YHA at Garie Beach has burned down and doesn't exist.
Lol tempted to just go and offer cash bribes if accosted.
Lol what's the worst that can happen?
I have to sleep in a tent 'shock horror' on the ground without a hot shower and a loo???
Can I possibly survive such deprivations?

OSM...In my professional opinion....Just go. And instead of camping at Era get dropped up top (rather than Garie beach car park) and walk to the southern end of Burning palms beach and camp up there. Far more peaceful (rangers included) and you can day trek on to Bulgo ect. Take a stick, the banks a going off and you'll be getting barrelled off your scone! (people who know will know).

But yes Dingo, I'll take your professional advice and just go.

Snowy Bluff is the only thing left on my VicAlps hit-list. A few bits of the Snowies I wouldn't mind exploring, but doubt I'll have the chance. Nothing new except a couple of weekends in the Grampians - untilI get down to Tassie. Then we'll see what the weather will let me do . . .
. . . Back into the Arthurs. Back to the Southern Ranges (do Alexandra and Bisdee this time). Beyond Byron: Cuvier, Manfred, etc. Gell, Cheyne Range, Hugel, Rufus circuit. The Central Plateau, from Ironstone to Ada and back. Whatever . . .

Just cancelled our 8-week trip overseas and have found lots of fun things to look forward to...

Am doing the Prom southern circuit with hubby midweek before Xmas - our first ever visit to Wilson's Prom - sad but true.
Planning two canoeing trips (Barmah & Goulburn River).
Taking each of my three girls on an individual mother-daughter walk.
Doing a pack-walk with hubby and our younger two from Baw Baw Village along some of the AAWT late January.
Want to get up to Pretty Valley again... not sure if there will be time
-- That should keep us busy for Dec and Jan!

Here's hoping we don't get floods or bushfires in Vic this summer! OK, probably not realistic but I'm sure everyone would be happy with it to turn out that way.

I just got back from the trip that got this thread started. I will post more details when I get around to it. suffice it to say it was excellent. A round trip of 120k in just over 2 days.

Starting to aim for nepals ght, still finding dates out with works so unsure if i shall do section by section or the whole lot in one hit, what i would like to do is the lower trail and return on the high trail or vise virsa would be one big year if done all together... in aussie, i was to do the bibbulmun track this month but once again work work work in the sunny pilbra

If you get a chance get up to the Kanchenjunga end at least, awesome.
Took a month last year walking in and out of there, big loop, not the usual tracks, but more local knowledge.
Even though not your usual Nepal teahouse type of region, we still stayed with mostly families (all be it in very basic abodes, but that suits us), and tented only up towards North base camp a few nights.

Is the upper shown here in red, and lower in blue ?
