On the topic of water and desert walking, I have often considered doing a week-long desert walk, but to plan for a full moon so I can do most of my walking at night.

Where I grew up there are plenty of scorpions. That said, I got stung once and besides hurting a fair bit (I was

I saw some photos of rattle snake bites once, seeing the swelling (and subsequent treatment) I'd want to be comatose the whole time. Truly terrifying animals (I'd say more so than a taipan).

Yes, rattle snake bite is rather bad news. At least our snakes leave some dignity for the victims.

In the old days people believed that you could condition yourself to rely on less water. there were also a lot more treatments being invented for kidney problems. I don't know if its a correlation but it is interesting.
