I had a mate back in Scotland that I first met in Glencoe.
Nik was an Ice Climbing NUT!
He was an exceptionally gifted climber.
Its what he lived for. He loved it.
During the winter he Ice climbed
During the summer he Rock climbed.
One summer Nik was rappelling down a face when he had a gear failure....dead on impact with the Earth.
He died doing what he lived for, what he....loved.
He knew the risks.
He lived.
What about families...kids...wives...?
He was single, no dependents.
What if he did have family etc?
If a wife/husband truely loves you, then they will allow you to do what you need to do/be to be content/happy.
If that means climbing rocks, hiking for weeks on end or going to University to learn a new profession so be it.
If the financial argument around death kicks in

....life insurance if possible should alleviate some of that worry.
If someone dies doing what they loved, I hope their loved ones loved them enough to allow them to be.
No greater gift can a man be given than freedom.
