NSW Maps

Postby JBloom » Sat 04 Aug, 2012 11:07 pm

Hi,
We're moving to northern NSW soon and I'm trying to find some good quality maps for when we go bushwalking. Preferably something similar to 1:25k or 1:100k topo maps that can be easily accessed like this: https://www.tasmap.tas.gov.au/do/category/25000TOPO so I can actually find the area that I'm going to be in and plan my trips accordingly. All the online websites I've found for NSW so far have names of places or parks and no overall map of where they are. Not helpful if you're not a local and don't know where the hell any of those places are, and the government website (http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/) seems to be less than useless unless all you want to do is drive to a place and then leave again. Any good suggestions as to where to buy maps or bushwalking books online would be fantastic (free downloads even better!)
Cheers,
J&C

I'm a bit confused as to whether you want wide area maps or zoomed in (eg 1:25k) maps. You can access online maps at
http://lite.maps.nsw.gov.au
or
