Tenkara rod arrived

Postby Onestepmore » Thu 15 Nov, 2012 11:33 pm

Just arrived today from Tenkara USA

Iwana 12' rod
Closed length 52 cm
Weight 76.5g

Line, tippet, small nippers and forceps, a beautiful bamboo hoop net (not for hiking), some tenkara flies
Also from Tenkara UK a beautifully crafted bamboo fly box, some more flies, and a pair of line holders. The box smells divine.

I'm in love
We can learn a lot from crayons. They come in different shapes and colours, but they all have to live in the same box

That's really interesting. I hope to read some of your reports on how it goes.
I'm a keen fly fisher but not so keen to carry the gear (rod in tube, reel, fly box etc.) on top of the
necessary overnight hiking gear.

There's a few fly flicking, trout ticklers on this forum....& chasers of other species too.
Certainly broadens the bushwalking experience....look out fishy's !
Mountain views are good for my soul...& getting to them is good for my waistline !

That looks pretty awesome! I've not really fly fished before, just a little play here and there but that type of set up is quite enticing.

nice. go westish and dodge the water board folk for trout, and wander more south east for some cod and perch.
