Jooriland question...

G'day all, wondering if anyone has walked the fire trail/track that runs basically between Millningang and new yards creeks, it sort of ends up above palin flat. It's got me guessing because on the topo it peters out about half a K after you drop of the trail to Mt Egan but a report I read mentions it leads almost down to the Wollondilly (although that report was written in 86') So yeah, any info would be appreciated as I"m looking to hit it in the next few weeks.

It doesn't go all the way to the river. It stops in the saddle before the last hill. From there it is trackless down to the river. Not an easy descent either.

Aaron which map are you looking at? It is accurately mapped on mine? Just to make sure we are talking about the same one could you give me the map and ref? I know a track is shown as going all the way down on some old maps but it doesn't exist on the ground. One day I walked in from Jooriland out over Mt Egan to the Milnigang Trail which I followed all the way to the end near Cockpit Ck. The latest edition has its terminus marked perfectly. From there it is trackless and quite an arduous descent to the river.

Bullnigang trail, the next one along is another interesting trail to the Wollondilly. But like the Milnigang it ends before the final descent to the river. I also found that to be a difficult descent.

NB also that there is another track leading off the Mt Egan Trail before the Milnigang trail which you can also take. It does peter out after a while but it leads down to a grassy clearing on a small creek. You can then cut across the other side and pick up the Milnigang Trail. You then turn left and follow it out to the end.

The whole region out there has a splendid sense of remoteness to it I find.
