Just thinking about this today while I watch 2 semi clothed grand-kids romp in the back yard after finding the hose was still attached to the tap
Has anybody here apart form myself ever needed to produce effectively warm clothing at short notice?
While this is why I carry the orange garbage bags I'm wondering whether people have found anything better than the old "Shepherds Coat" A woollen poncho or serape tied around the waist with a cord?
I just tried showing the kids but they were no cold enuff to be interested. The best variation on this theme I have found was the expanded polyethylene foam wrap sold as packing material and often found flying around on a windy day, bubble wrap also works very very well

probably just wrap a nice warm person around you and make them take the brunt of the weather. assuming you had a spare human about the place that is.

In my younger days I always carried a small, personal emergency bivvy. Very waterproof from memory.

Now if I could only remember the name of the manufacturer........ Ah, that's it, Ansell.
