I refer to CFS incident map:
http://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/site/warnings_ ... idents.jsp
and Heysen Trail maps: Southern Guide; Greenock to Kapunda 4.7, Kapunda to Peters Hill 5.2

It appears that the Pinery Bushfire has only burnt a small area of the Heysen Trail near Greenock-St John-Kapunda.
The trail between Higgins Road and Seven Hills Road.
This will need to be confirmed on the ground.

The bushfire burned north of Kapunda and close to: Blackjoe's Road, Bridge Road, Lights Hummocks, and Cornvale Road (~4km).

This is great news for the Trail...!!

I live in Hamilton so the fire stopped advancing towards me at ~7km away.
I love walking the Trail and would love to walk parts of it with other walkers if you are nearby - message me! :D

[I wish that all maps could synchronise and get the data the same i.e. the CFS, SAPOL, Heysen maps, Garmin, Apple maps, and Google.
Some maps have roads and not others, and road names are different or non-existent between maps??]

**please don't flame me out people, this is my first post on bushwalk.com forum!!

Well, NE suburbs, and I'd often rather spend time on the highway than crossing Adelaide! I'm told the Heysen closed a little early this year because of early heat waves so you're now talking about next year? Our walking group usually do the bits through Warren Conservation Park at least once a year, that's very pretty. If you do travel - I was going to say, to the Big Smoke but that seems just wrong now... - if you are visiting Adelaide, Keep Walking SA welcomes casual walkers.

Thanks for your reply, I would be interested to walk in Warren, let me know if I could?
I have enjoyed exploring some bits of the Heysen up North here by myself but to explore more, I would feel safer with company.
Thems the breaks...
mmm... maybe I should "just-do-it" "all-by-myself" anyways...
