Hello Bushwalking Forum

The Keith Lancaster Mountaineering Diaries website (http://dveltkamp.customer.netspace.net. ... /index.htm) is going to go offline as of anytime now. As I will be away from home for a year and have closed my internet subscription, Iinet will be taking the website offline when they get around to it.

I hope to reinstate the website, perhaps in a fresh format and with new material sometime in the second half of 2017.

Regards

Would you like me to mirror it for you on Amazon's servers as a static site in the interim? Seems a shame for the internet to lose such a website for 18 months.

It'd just be a direct copy of your existing site, with the link posted here.

Thanks for letting us know Dirk. There are copies of the website on the web archive, but Bumping Bill's offer sounds good.

Shame if they were to disappear. Spent many an evening reading his walk accounts. Love the way that he rode his bike from lonny to wherever he went walking.

Will be sad to be without it. Thanks for letting us know and thanks for maintaining this great resource over the years! I've loved reading his accounts. Have often taken a few of them with me on walks and read of his adventures while out in the same areas.

Hi Bumpingbill

I just found your message, as I only have sporadic internet access. If you could do that, it would be great! I notice that the Keith Lancaster website is still online as of the time of this post. Thanks for the offer, I really appreciate it, and also the other comments. Incentive to put the website back in 2017 and also get on with the other half of Keith's diaries.

Cheers

Dirk

No worries at all. Here's the link. It should be identical in every way (except the URL) to your page.

http://dveltkamp.s3.amazonaws.com/Keith ... /index.htm

Enjoy!

It is a fairly easy task to set up a proper www.com.au website 'dirkus49. Basic site is around $100 pa to host. Let me know if you would like to know more.

Thanks Dirk and Bumping bill for continuing to make Keith's diaries available. It is the Launceston Walking Club's 70th anniversary this year and we have been accessing Keith's diaries for stories about the club's early days. Please be encouraged to continue your work as you are able.

I tried to find Keith Lancaster's diaries using the link in this topic but it has died. A Google search found a link to an archive of Dirk's original website hosted as a Libraries Tasmania archive. Here is the link so I can find it when I need to again.

As usual the 'wayback machine' has copies.

http://web.archive.org/

You enter the url and there you go. Unfortunately you do need to know the url, and not all urls are saved.

http://web.archive.org/web/202400000000 ... /index.htm

You select the date of the saved data and there you are ... back in time.
