What's up with farmonline weather forecasting?

Postby Tortoise » Tue 27 Sep, 2022 4:37 pm

Does anybody know what's happening with the farmonline weather forecasting? I'm pretty sure the 28-day long range forecast is missing a lot. I've noticed before that sometimes it only seems to do a couple of weeks, but now I think it's down to a week. Trouble is, I don't think there's a way of distinguishing between days that are actually forecasting nil precipitation, and days that haven't been included yet. It's unlikely that Tassie is expecting no rain for the last 3 weeks of October. One day at a time seems to be being added - now up to 3rd October. I can't see a way to contact anybody via the website to ask. Thanks for any info. I am aware of the limitations of 28-day forecasts, but they still can help. :)

It's definitely only giving 6 days' forecast, even though it still says it's for 28 days. Anybody know anything about it?

Fellow I know does longer range weather forecasting. He had it up on his website .. but took it down due to idiots complaining that it 'was not accurate'. Now he only does it for a fee, that weeds out the idiots.

mountain-forecast has currently 12 days, not bad but after the 4-5th day, it's really a hit and miss.

Some of the models on Windy.com go out a couple of weeks, but honestly I've always felt long range forecasts for south-west/central-west Tassie only exist to give you false hope.
Just like short range forecasts... ;-)
