Rhabdomyolysis

I don't know how many people listen to podcasts but there is an Australian version of Ashley Sharpe's popular "Sharp End" podcast called "Rescued."

The latest episode is a chap who got rhabdomyolysis on the K2K and it is one of the more interesting episodes.

Not throwing any shade on Andy, the guy who got rescued but I think it is hard to imagine what work it is now pushing through some of the regrowth if you haven't done it. I've had bushwalker friends who don't believe me until they go out and try some of the old trails and routes and then they be like "holy hell." Doing these types of trips solo is even harder because there is no one to share the work with and, even though the person who goes first does not actually cut a path, the simple act (not really that simple) of walking through makes passage easier for those who come behind. It's kind of like breaking trail in deep snow.

Thanks for posting. Interesting podcast. The poor bloke didn't really do anything wrong. The scrub must have been horrendous.
