How does everyone wash their packs?

I've never bothered too much before, just a bit of a wipe down with a cloth occasionally, but my daypack is getting a bit scungy and i'd like to give it a decent clean.

I put mine in the bath with washing up detergent and scrub the buggery out of it with a brush.

Does the buggary come out well with a brush?

Yeh I've heard you mention that, I think if I dont get any better ideas, then thats about the best approach.
I do love my pack so sharing a bath with it sounds kinda nice.....

You've got to scrub it pretty hard.

ive done the odd overnight pack that way....thesedays its just ends up the larger ones....

I think Nuts may have been enjoying a bath with a 6 pack or 2....

nah. i have other vices.

I just dumped mine in the washing machine tonight when I got home it came out really well, but I am in the market for a new bigger day pack so I don't mind doing this to it.

Wire brush and Dettol.

strewf, id hate to be your pack

sard (s'worth repeating) especially the lavender one! Leave a little, then a nail brush hard 'soft' brush... I have tried a pressure washer, (from appropriate distance).

Usually just brush off or hose down, but when day pack harness or big pack lumbar pad become too smelly I soak in napisan and a drop of eucalyptus oil, then rinse and dry. Also works well if things leak in your pack (e.g. the milk after you've walked to the supermarket). If this doesn't work then metho is another trick for removing smells - works for smelly t-shirts too.
