Bushwalking clubs Sydney Area.

Mon 02 Apr, 2012 11:26 pm

Was wanting to get together with similar people and do some bush walking, and or camping if over night. \

Just wondering if any of you guys and gals are members of any of these clubs. Another reason I would like to join is to go to new areas with some suppervision and get to know them and proably go back my self later, good way to get to know new areas I guess :)

I also like the idea of a pickup and return home arangment as well, even if its back to a train station, that would be fine, I like the idea of knowing I will be able to get home after the trip :)

I am Vehicularly Challanged at the moment.

Cheers.

To find a club, the NSW confederation of bushwalking clubs is the place to look. Here is their list of clubs around Sydney.

Try posting something in the Walking Companions section?

What walks are you interested in? What walks have you done?
Whereabouts are you(within Sydney)?

There are plenty of good, active walking clubs in Sydney. Your choice probably depends on the demographic you want to walk with, the type of walks you want to do and the area you are from.
National Parks Association of NSW (NPA) have a good walks program. Sydney Bushwalkers are very active. Bush Club is also great, especially if you are after more day walks. If you are younger one of the uni clubs (I'd argue Sydney Uni and UTS seem to be the most active) could be a good option. There are plenty more. If you have the time just try walking with a few and see which one best fits you.
