Tarptent Scarp repair

Postby Black Kettle » Fri 13 Jun, 2025 4:08 pm

Hi all, I need some advice on how to fix my tent. The bottom of the sleeves that are holding the struts are wearing through on several struts. A while ago I "fixed" one of them trying to hand sew a bit of fabric around the bottom. Didn't really have the proper material so it both looks awful and it's not a great job. I'm leaving on a big trip very soon so I thought maybe just put some gaffer tape or something around the bottom :? Any suggestions that are cheap and easy?

I've patched things like this on other bits of gear with heavy duty cloth tape. As long as everything is clean and dry when you apply it, it will work fairly well and last a reasonable time.

Thanks, I'll give it a go with cloth tape. Should last for a two-week trip at least
