Kevlar cloth

Postby slparker » Mon 10 Aug, 2015 4:17 pm

Actually this is non-walking related but I'm after a supplier in Aus (or ships to Aus) of Kevlar cloth. Just need something very puncture resistant that can be sewn (or glued). Only need about 2 x 1.5 m square or thereabouts.
Anyone know a suppler?

I am not sure what type of Kevlar cloth you are after but you could try contacting Lawrence at Nadgee Sea Kayaks.

Something to withstand the canine teeth of a 7 month old German shorthaired pointer. For his bed... I'll enquire to see if Lawrence has something to fit the bill.

These cloths are composite fabrics designed to be laid up with epoxy resin and the like. They couldn't be sewed, generally they are a real pain just to handle them enough to get them in position for gluing. The fibres just fall apart.

Unfortunately I don't know of a supplier though so I am not much good :?

He had Kevlar sewable a while ago; I think the law in the US has changed and like here they don't like you being able to sew up your own armour anymore.
