Can I make this tent work for next season?

The picture is of the cheap Jackaroo tunnel tent from K-Mart
It seems as if this is one of those standard Chinese tents that are available everywhere for about $300-
Weak points are obviously the cheap fibreglass wands but the basic design has some good points
It has two easily detachable inner "rooms" and there is just enough headroom to stand in the centre section
If you look a the picture you may be able to see the extra wands I added to support the cheap polyester fly
My perhaps dumb idea is to add lots of webbing loops/clips and make these extra wands part of the whole tent; use a second fly as part of the design and replace the centre panel of LW and cheap polyester fabric with something more robust and with a breathable section i the top to allow the tent to "breathe" then add snow valances and the stove jack
Definitely want a hot tent for next year

A tent that is very similar to the one in the above photo but even more cheaply made

Another question
Has anybody made hybrid wands using a combination of FG and alloy?
using all Easton sections isn't economical but using a combination may be.
Use the cheaper FG wand sections on the bottom where they are easily accessible for replacement, then straight sections of alloy and as few curved alloy sections as I can
The second part of my idea is to replace the whole central section of cheap LW polyester with some good heavy japara so it can breath and rely on that second layer of WP tarp for most of the weather proofing [ I have the japara here so it's a no-cost option] and to take the brunt of the shrapnel that flys around during a storm
Instead of the FG wands originally fitted use those cheap Chinese wands as all they will be doing really is supporting the inner tent liners
