DIY Oilskin? (Pouches)

Has anyone made their own oilskin material? Or similar things to it? E.g. Wax infused cloth

I'm looking to make some water resistant cloth pouches for little goodies.
I'm just looking into making the pouches somewhat water resistant, so if anyone's got some other ideas or material suggestions then it would be greatly appreciated.

I have but only because I wanted a certain "Look" if you really want cotton based fabric the "Dry" Japara is a better fabric to use
