16mm LW webbing needed

Fri 08 Dec, 2023 4:50 pm

Or 15mm or 5/8th Imperial.
Preferable jungle green or olive drab but if polyester anything but black
I only need a few metres. Just had a roll arrive and it is too thick to use with Tabler buckles or Fastex
These American buckles are 5/8th and 19/20mm simply doesn't work

The Grunt stap from Bunnings is pretty thin. I know it comes in yellow but probably nothing dull other than black.

Sorry too wide at 25 or 50mm. (blue, red or yellow)

But I think [ from memory] it is also very thick. Tabler type buckles need thin soft webbing to work properly; like early seat belt webbing or type 102LW from Australian Weaving Industries

Try Cams Cords - https://www.camscords.com.au/collections/webbing-15mm

Also have fittings etc and they are down your way

They have the thick stuff but not the thinner webbing that works with adjustable buckles
EDIT
I will however pick up a one metre sample just in case because they have plastic belt buckles on clearance and I'll get a few as I hate taking of my pants belt when checking in to flights and the plastic buckles are OK to wear though the metal detectors.

Hi

I have 10 mm, 13 mm and 20 mm light nylon webbing - a bit like edge binding tape. Any use?
If so, send me your email addy vi PM.

Cheers
Roger

It may be too thin and lightweight, but this could be an option for you: https://www.makeyourowngear.com.au/prod ... n-colours/

Graeme who runs that site is a really nice guy, so I'm sure if you flicked him an email he'd be able to help workout if that could work for you.

I've looked at my own collection and the only one I have in a 16mm width would be way too thick for you (plus it's black).

Thanx FC. My beloved makes handbags and we are familiar with that ribbon. Yep; too thin and light
Thanx too Roger but this is a very specific webbing for US made rucksacks from the 70s, the old 5/8" standard as used by the military so the carry-over to civvy gear at that time and I want to repair this old stuff rather than substitute with the better 20mm that is cheap and of which I have heaps. Even the old cotton 5/8 is getting hard to get at a cost I think is reasonable and I don't need 5- or 100m of it
