[FS Vic Rural-post Aus] Western Mountaineering UltraLite

Wed 18 Sep, 2019 2:35 pm

Western Mountaineering Ultralite sleeping bag. Has optional W/M overfill.

Regular length (suit up to 6ft). Full length L/H zip.

Bought for a trekking holiday in Europe some years ago. Ended up not being used on that trip, as I misunderstood the accommodation arrangements. Has since been used mainly on hut based trips in Australia and New Zealand. Not sure about usage but probably 20 to no more than 30 nights.

As new. No stains. No grime. No damage of any sort. Always used with a bag liner and wearing socks, jocks, and a thermal top. Always stored indoors in the supplied storage bag. Never washed, and IMO, doesn't need washing.

$495 including post to Aus.

Hey mate, how tall are you. I am interested, but at exactly 6ft, I think it might be a bit tight?

I'm 5'8". I was accidentally supplied with a long, which was exchanged easily enough, but I did try that before I changed it. The long was way, way too long for me.

W/M say the regular suits up to 6' so you should be OK, but I understand your concern.

A trial wriggle would answer the question, and if we are to far apart from each other to do that, Paddy's stock this model and you could probably try one there.

A follow up on the length.

http://www.westernmountaineering.com/faqs/

"a 6'0" person should perfectly fit in a 6"0" bag"

I had a 6ft tall tester climb in and the report was that with the hood on, the feet weren't up against the end.

Editing of my original post is still not possible, so in response to a request, here are a couple of pics.

The pic of the label simply verifies the spec, and the pick of the neck/shoulder area shows the area of the bag most likely to show signs of use, of which there are none.

The relatively uncrumpled condition of the label also confirms how few times the bag has been packed and unpacked.

Hi, Thanks for all the extra info, and sorry about the late response.

I am a bit torn about this bag (specially with winter ending so I won't really need a bag this warm for a while and I have spent too much on hiking gear recently). I might go into Pattys to see how it feels and I will keep an eye on this thread with interest.

Someone grab this bargain!

I’m a long time WM Ultralite user and can vouch for the quality and utility of this bag.

One the nice features of this bag is the ability to shift the down through the baffles. For example, if it’s too hot you can move some of the down underneath you making it more suitable for warmer temps.

It’s bang on -7 for me as an average sleeper as well. A very versatile bag.
