Screwtop Cooking Container

I like the concept of the Vango Bot. You can soak your dehydrated meal in a vessel with a screw top, so you feel a bit safer that it won't spill everywhere. I do the same thing with a plastic bottle for lunches.

But ... there is an appeal to having a metal container that you can then just transfer to heat to warm up your pre-soaked meal.

The bot seems a bit expensive for what it is. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives?
i.e. lightweight, water-tight, heat-proof vessel

I have a Bot. It works very well for me, even though tall pots are not my preference.
But I had a very specific requirement that for a 1 litre pot that would fit in to a small diameter bikepacking bag, and of course I wanted it for its dual function as both a bottle and a pot.
I took a long time trawling the internet for more affordable alternatives, but found nothing.
However, if you don't mind a slightly heavier Bot, the stainless steel version is less than half the price of the titanium Bot.

As an aside, the Ti Bot is now also available as a 700 ml mug complete with folding handles. I'm not sure if it should be called a bot, mot, pug or bug.

Sigg or Kleen Kanteen do wide-mouth containers up to about 1.2L in stainless and aluminium , plastic lids but should be ok to remove the lid then put on a stove about 1/3 the price?

Good to see Vargo updating their product line...noticed they've even put a couple of 'C" shaped stiffeners in the
sierra 750 lid to try & stop it from warping.

Two possible problems :
1) the top is narrow so not all that easy to eat from and much harder to clean
2) I think that they are all lined with stuff that may not be all that good for you once it melts away.
The Bot, for reference, is just Ti and looks like this :

BTW, there was a 500ml version (generic) not sure if it can still be found .
Search under :MySolo c1+ titanium watertight kettle (last price $71 USD)

Nope - as previously posted the Bot is also offered in stainless steel at less than half the price, and looks like this.

you missed that bold bit :
" I think that they are all lined with stuff that may not be all that good for you once it melts away.

I was comparing the lined bottles with the non lined Bot.

From Sigg :
"The SIGG bottle liner has evolved over the years. Our goal has always been to utilize a liner which is in full compliance with all international safety standards, ensures a high quality, leach-free performance and thus delivers great taste every time".
