When the report said the avalanche was triggered by themselves, did that mean they were using small explosives or by accident?

Jamie Vinton-Boot has been killed after being swept off his feet by an avalanche on the west face of the Remarkables today

Caught by just a 4m wide avalanche. Very sad.
