Hi all,
I recently walked the South Coast Track and had a fantastic time. The walk satisfied all my bushwalking needs: surrounded me by nature, supplied me with beautiful scenery and got me out of the office! There was the mud, sweat, but no tears! But plenty of fantasies about beers (which flowed freely when we got back to Hobart!!)! I really enjoyed the walk and would definitely do it again one day. There does, however, seem to be plenty of degradation caused by volumes of walkers on the track, especially through the button grass bogs and through the rainforest sections on the eastern side of the Ironbound Range and South Cape Range. I personally would have been happy to pay a greater fee for walking if the money could go into further track maintenance in some of the most degraded sections. Having said that, I take my hat off to the people who build and maintain the boardwalks through some of the boggiest sections! Anyhow, this is a gallery, not a trip report or bushwalk discussion, so here is a selection of photos I would like to share from my trip. As you can see, we had some excellent weather, especially for the crossing of the Ironbounds!
Cheers
Andrew
