New Harbour Range

Wed 14 May, 2008 9:14 am

Its nearly two months since my Easter Trip to SW Tassie and I have been meaning to post a few photos, but not got a "round tuit" until now. We enjoyed a perfect day on the NH Range, a front moved across late afternoon and we had a calm clear night. It made up for the five days of wet weather on our way back to Cockle Creek.

Great shots... the fog in the valleys always adds to any picture too.

Great shots Ian, looks like it would have been a magic sunrise from up there, great work.

Very nice Ian. Looks like you'll have a lot of trouble picking an entry for the next photo competition. :)

Here are some additional photos that set the scene for the New Harbour Range and show the variety of views from the range (in good weather).

I experimented with Nikon's "PhotoStitch" software on a few of the NH Range photos that lent themselves to the panoramic treatment even though it was not intended at the time. Let me know 'sonofabeach' if I am overloading this thread

No problems with overloading topics in this forum. :) So long as the photos are no more than 800 pixels (attachments are thumbnailed to this size anyway), and no more than 1 MB each (which is enforced in the attachment process anyhow).

They look great, too!

Time to resurrect this topic with some photos of my second visit to the New Harbour Range on a Launceston Walking Club trip in January 2014 during the heatwave. A week in SW Tassie without rain! . . . and the range was too dry to camp on top again, so we did a day trip from the campsite on New Harbour.

The New Harbour Range remains in my top 3 all time camps. So beautiful.
