Forum rules

Please keep the width of embedded images (using [img] [/img] tags) in this forum to no more than 800 pixels wide (this will avoid them being clipped without notice by most users' window sizes). Attached images can be any resolution so long as the file size is no more than 1 MB (attachments will be displayed by the forums as thumbnails no larger than 800 pixels linked to the full-size image).

Please include a description of the pictures' content so that readers know what they're all about.

For topics focussed on narrative rather than the photos, please consider posting in one of the 'Trip Report' forums instead.

A pictural essay on off track peak bagging

Choose your mode of transport> bicycle was my choice for this trip as the Hydro gate was closed.

Try to get as close to the peak as possible, <1km is a good effort.

Then head towards the peak through whatever you are faced with.

Take in the views from the best vantage point.

I did the same as you. Just as well it's less than 1km cos the scrubb was a bit of a pain. Also I think that there might be a track that starts a bit before where you left. I noticed a small cairn as I was cycling back :roll: .

This made me laugh, good photos there! It reminded me of a time I was in the Walls, saw a nice looking stand of pencil pine on the map and with said map and a compass, made a B-Line to my objective. BANG! I hit a south facing slope, joy of joys. But, got to the pines that were next to a lake. Gorgeous.
