Here are some pictures of a day walk that I did yesterday (Friday 07-11-08) to one of the remotest peaks in the Namadgi National Park, Mt Namadgi 1780m. The walk covered 22 k all but 3 k on trackless country and most through fire regrowth, total ascent around 1150m, we took 10 hours. The views are some of the best to be had anywhere, we could see Mt Jagungal in the Australian Alps which still had snow on it. When we reached the Peak of Namadgi a bottle of champagne was opened to celebrate John’s 60th birthday. (Johns blog http://jevans.pcug.org.au/).

Quite an achievement I'd say, in untracked country.

Looks like the area is recovering slowly after those damaging fires.

Hi Tony and Adam,

It was quite a tough walk, the recovering bush makes very difficult walking in areas, a lot of fallen timber, it is like walking through pickup sticks in places.

Bet the champs tasted good with that view!

This picture is for you Adam, the champagne was great as was the company.

Haha Tease...
I was going to say that photo needed some photo shop work as the champagne turned out all pink, but there is a strawberry in it so it must be the light reflecting off the strawberry in the glass eh...
