OT with the GR

A couple from my last OT trip - a bit of a stinker with 36deg recorded heading up Du Cane Gap. The guests were struggling, as were the guides

Also my first trip with my new Ricoh GR, an epic little fixed lens compact that manages to fit an APS sensor into a body that is 'genuinely' pocketable. Just about perfect for hiking

I'll have a crack: it looks a bit like Wahlenbergia stricta, but i'm not 100% sure, so I am happy to be corrected.

That's what I'd previously been calling them, but going by the Field Nats Guide it doesn't seem quite right...

I am fairly confident you are correct Pteropus. The flowers I have seen are generally a darker purple colour but that maybe the conditions they are growing in.

I've been following his Instagram feed, some pretty nice work...

The APS sensor is only half the story, the lens (28mm equivalent) is honestly the sharpest I've used for any format, and the lack of AA filter helps.

Great photos. The 2nd B&W looks a little underexposed on my monitor though and the other's are a bit high on the contrast. Can't pick up my detail in the shadows.

The GR is an awesome camera. Love the star trails with the rugged mountain silhouette.
