Very nice series of photos, looks like you guys had great weather. That weird looking flower thingy is quite interesting, and a dam nice tiger too! Nice work.

In the words of Westley, "What is that thing?"
Great trip by the looks of it, and some great pictures. Seriously, if anyone has information on that weird looking flower thingy, I'd love to know what it is.

Thanks Mickeymoo. Yep excellent weathe really, except day 1 (friday). We had rain, sleet, snow, hail and even a few very brief patches of sunshine and the temp plummeted in the arvo (about 4 degrees and quite breezy at 4pm). Saturday and Sunday were brilliant sunny days and Monday was nice but cloudy.
Well Corvus tells me it's a Stink Horn (Aeroe Rubera). But I have no idea. It did stink a bit though and flys were really attracted to the black stuff on the 'arms'.

Great pics and a nice trip by the look of it.
Notice you are using Shonky maps. Happy with them?

Yeah Shonky is pretty good for a free program - certainly can't complain. I still carry a Tasmap though as Shonky really doesn't have all the detail of a proper map.

Those photos look familiar. Looks like you had a great time guys, and some nice weather to boot. Photo 4 - when I crossed there you'd have been standing in the water.

I believe he's right, it's a type of fungus.

I was wondering what a red-bellied black snake was doing in Tasmania

, then noticed the yellow banding underneath

The photos are great, it looks like a beautiful walk. And I'm glad you had some sunshine to enjoy as well as bringing out the snakes for you. That red thing really is weird, I've never seen one of those before. Thanks for the photos.
