Someone built a Pandanus treehouse out of washed up debris.
So I stayed the night....and for a short time felt like a castaway.

That's an interesting magpie colour scheme. 1/2 albino?

I'm not sure if thats a joke? If not, its a pied butcherbird :)

Great photos ofuros, someone's been busy making bush furniture! I'm glad you finally got down there as I remember you mentioning it some time ago. It's close to home for me so I visit often and never get tired of it.

Which section did you do, or was it the whole 100k's?

I think it's a Butcherbird, not a Magpie.

If I may also add to the same theme. From our walk over the long weekend, found lots of "floating rocks" (pumice stones) on Marley Beach, including this sheet floating at the back of Little Marley beach. Apparently they were from an undersea volcanic eruption in 2012, just north of NZ. It formed world's largest pumice raft in the Pacific Ocean, some 20,000 sq km in size. Some drifted our way.

Great shots. This reminded me of the film "North of the Sun" we saw at the Banff Film Festival recently. Two young guys built a hut and everything they needed from junk washed up on a small isolated beach somewhere north of the Arctic Circle. They lived there through the winter... surfing. Highly recommend anyone to go see it.
